I created the space I needed, too.
For a long time, I was really good at holding things together.
I knew how to carry responsibilities, expectations and the many roles life asked me to hold. I knew how to keep going.
What I wasn't nearly as good at was noticing what all that carrying was doing to me.
I knew how to survive.
Somewhere along the way, I had forgotten how to exhale.
I needed another way.
There wasn't one perfect answer. My return happened by slowing down and paying attention. Through grounding. Through movement. Through breathing. Through reconnecting with my body and my own voice. Little by little, I began making room for myself again. And I began questioning something many of us have been taught in one form or another. That rest comes after everything else. That asking for help means we aren't strong enough. That caring for ourselves is something we earn once everyone and everything else has been handled.
I don't believe that anymore.
And I knew I wasn't the only one.
I started thinking about how many women were carrying their own version of the same weight. Women caring for families. Building careers and businesses. Raising children. Showing up for friends. Holding communities together. Being the dependable one. Being the strong one. And somewhere inside all that showing up, struggling to make room for ourselves. I kept coming back to a simple question:
Where do we get to go when we don't want to hold everything for a while? That question became Peaceful Rising Wellness.
I didn't want to create another space where women would feel pressure to perform wellness perfectly. I wanted to create spaces where we could arrive as we actually are. Tired sometimes. Curious sometimes. Ready to move. Ready to laugh. Ready to breathe. Or maybe just ready to sit down. Spaces where our children can experience caring for themselves alongside the people who care for them. Spaces where women can be in community without needing to explain why they need a moment. Spaces where wellness can happen in the middle of our real lives…not somewhere far away from them.
Peaceful Rising is a soft return.
A return to our bodies.
A return to our breath.
A return to community.
A return to ourselves.
Peaceful Rising doesn't exist because I believe a wellness gathering can make life's responsibilities disappear.
It exists because I know how much it matters to make room for ourselves inside the lives we're already living.
To breathe again.
To hear ourselves again.
To reconnect.
To rest.
And to remember that caring for ourselves was never supposed to be the last thing on the list.
Because caring for ourselves is not a luxury we earn. It is our birthright.
With softness,
